Our Story

NEW OWNERS AT MISTY GLEN! Vicci and Eric are pleased to announce that they have just purchased Misty Glen and would like to thank Carol and Jim Wright for all their hard work over the years and wish them a long and happy retirement.

Located centrally amongst the Hunter Valley vineyards, Misty Glen is just a few minutes drive from all of the Hunter's most popular wineries, golf courses and attractions.

The Wright family purchased the undeveloped property in mid 1985 with a small attached vineyard in dire need of some TLC, with plantings of Semillon, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Plantings of 3 acres Shiraz in 2000 and 3 acres of Chambourcin in 2002.The vineyard had a irrigation system installed in September 2000 to compensate for the dry/drought conditions, and also a vineyard management program has been put into place to help produce high quality grapes for Misty Glen Wines.

In the autumn and winter months you can watch the mist roll up across the flats from the Hunter River, through the bottom of the property up through the vineyard - hence the name Misty Glen. 

In 1998 one cosy fully self contained country cottage was built on the property against the backdrop of the Valley's natural bushland setting. relax and unwind and watch the kangaroos graze in the misty mornings.
